A PG-13 version of Deadpool? Probably not.

PG-13 and Deadpool do not belong in the same sentence.

The amount of violence, language and nudity in Deadpool is just too much to make a PG-13 cut of the highly anticipated antihero film. Plus, these elements are essential to a movie such as Deadpool.

China was unable to get a cleaner cut of the film, so they just banned the movie all together. Back here in the states, there is a petition to make a PG-13 version of the film. However, with all of the R-Rated sequences throughout most of the film, it would be nearly impossible for the film to get even close to a PG-13 rating.

Fox would have to spend millions of dollars in order to recreate scenes using visual effects, as well as dubbing over dialogues.

Ryan Reynolds, who stars as Deadpool, also assisted in the writing and production of the film. When asked if Fox would even consider making a PG-13 cut of the film, he commented, “I don’t think so. I mean, you saw it. That would be a very short movie. It’s almost a commercial at that point.”

Reynolds does not want Deadpool fans to get angry with the mom who started the petition. He added, “People are ragging on her – I think that’s an awesome mom,” he said. “When I was 8 years old, I wanted to see 9 ½ Weeks, but my mom didn’t make a petition!”

Good answer, Ryan Reynolds. Good answer. A PG-13 version of Deadpool would just ruin the entire film.
