Chipotle set to close their doors temporarily next month

Chipolte is gearing up to close all 2,000 of their North American restaurants for several hours on Monday, February 8th following reports of outbreaks food poisoning at some of their restaurants.

The restaurants will open their doors at 3 p.m. on February 8th instead of their usual time at 10 or 11 a.m.

“We are hosting a national team meeting to thank our employees for their hard work through this difficult time, discuss some of the food safety changes we are implementing, and answer questions from employees,” a Chipotle spokesman said in an email to the media.

Since July, about 500 people have reported illness after eating at Chipolte due to several types of bacterial contaminations.
