Amazon Prime Day 2016: Was it successful for both Amazon and shoppers?

Amazon Prime Day has returned once again.

After a rocky start to Prime Day last year, things seem to be shaping up slightly. Surveys found that a glitch that prevented shoppers from adding items to their cart played a key role in last year’s not-so-successful day of deals. Another contributing factor was the fact that there were “very few blockbusters deals.” While this year’s discounts are not much different price-wise than what you would usually find on a typical day while shopping around on Amazon, they are definitely offering many more “Deals of the Day” and “Lightning Deals” than usual.

Amazon is also offering a free 30-day trial of their Prime service. As the Amazon website states: “Prime members also enjoy FREE Two-Day Shipping, exclusive access to movies and TV shows, ad-free music, unlimited photo storage, and Kindle books.”

Amazon appears to improving Prime Day slowly but surely. Shoppers appear to have more deals to choose from this year, and the reaction from many visitors is fairly positive. At this point, let’s just hope Amazon continues on this path to improvement.
