88.7 FM, The Pulse, and 90.7 FM, The Goldmine, the student radio stations at East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT), will broadcast seven regular season East Valley high school baseball & softball games throughout the months of March and April. The Pulse and The Goldmine are products of EVIT’s Radio/Audio Production class, located at the Main Campus of EVIT. Both are public radio stations that showcase the talents of the students enrolled in the program.
EVIT Radio Instructor and longtime ESPN-Chicago broadcaster Dave Juday will share play-by-play duties with EVIT Radio alum Steven Cusumano, while current EVIT student Jose Solis will serve as an analyst for several of the broadcasts.
The Pulse and The Goldmine have established themselves as the go-to place for live radio coverage of high school athletics. Pulse Sports just wrapped up an 18-game basketball broadcast schedule, following a football season in which The Pulse served as the radio home of the AIA’s Friday night high school football “Game of the Week,” as well as the playoffs and the Class 4A, 5A & 6A state championship games. The Pulse also broadcast basketball last season, including the boys and girls Division I, II & III state title games.
Current high school sophomores & juniors who are interested in sports broadcasting and learning more about The Pulse and the opportunities within the Radio/Audio Production programs at EVIT, please contact Dave Juday at firstname.lastname@example.org.
