One lucky winner in Illinois won the $393 million Mega Millions jackpot Friday, but no one claimed the Powerball jackpot which has climbed to the ninth highest in the game’s history, now at $430 million.
Whoever ultimately takes home the grand prize should expect to pay about $68 million in federal taxes, while adding $24 million to the state. Honestly, if most of us won $430 million, we would not mind subtracting $92 million from that, at all. Just sayin’!
What would YOU do if you won the jackpot? Would you buy a fancy new car, a huge house, or perhaps go on a shopping spree? Oh, the possiblities. We can dream, can’t we?
