Arguably, the most iconic Batman villain, The Joker, played by Jared Leto in ‘Suicide Squad’ is getting his own movie, although Jared Leto may not return for the role. Legendary film director Martin Scorsese is expected to be involved in the yet-untitled movie in some way, though it is still unknown exactly what. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Todd Phillips, the director of The Hangover, will co-write the screenplay, and possibly even direct it. Reports suggest the story will take place in the 1980s and be more of a “gritty crime drama,” than a comic book movie. The Joker isn’t the only villian getting his own origin film, so is his popular girlfriend! Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie, is also set to return in a new movie called “Gotham City Sirens,” and David Ayer is going to reprise his role as director. The other characters rumored to join Harley Quinn are Catwoman and Poison Ivy. Things are looking good in the DC universe!
