Twitter may allow twice as many character tweets

If you are anything like most of us, you love to Tweet!

Twitter has announced that once again they’ll be relaxing the 140 character count for some select users, up to a possible 280.

Some are outraged, while others enjoy the additional space to express themselves.

Twitter says the move is meant to address, “languages impacted by cramming,” including English and Spanish, while others like Japanese or Chinese can express a lot more information and emotion in just one character.

When Twitter launched back in 2006, the reason for limiting Tweets to 140 characters was because that’s the same amount you can fit into a text message.

So whether you have a hard time squeezing your thoughts into 140 characters or get right to the point with leftover space, the Twitterverse is changing!
