2017 was quite an eventful year in American music!
In January 2017, Bell Biv Devoe released their first album in sixteen years, titled Three Stripes. The following month, Lady Gaga performed during halftime at Super Bowl LI at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Beginning in March, we lost some of the greats in rock and roll including Chris Cornell, the frontman of Soundgarden, and his good friend Chester Bennington from Linkin Park, not to mention legendary rocker Tom Petty.
Kesha dropped her first album in five years called Rainbow, after a long battle with former mentor and producer Dr. Luke.
As far as music goes, more than a few popular artists earned their way on 88.7 The Pulse’s Top 88 of 2017 including three hits from Ed Sheeran’s third studio album, Divide. The most appearances on the chart belong to Justin Bieber with four, only one as the main artist. As for the best selling album of the year, Taylor Swift’s Reputation, listeners can expect to hear a couple songs from there as well.
