People reveal what they would be willing to give up for Lent

Lent begins today for some, which means having to give up something for 40 days and 40 nights.

Local television station FOX 10 asked their viewers, who were partaking in Lent, what would they be giving up for Lent and these were the Top 5 answers.

Rounding off the survey was meat, which the majority of those celebrating Lent do not eat on Fridays anyway, so abstaining from it altogether should not be too difficult unless you are a meat and potatoes kind of person.

Coming in fourth was chocolate. You may have seen the gag gift, “In case of emergency break glass,” which reveals chocolate. Now that is a tough one! Chocolate is an aphrodisiac!

Placing third in the poll was alcohol, which can be a struggle for some, especially those who go out on the weekends.

And the runner-up was … Twitter! That is something the president should probably give up for Lent (or forever!)

So that leaves us with the number one answer on the survey, which asks, if you had to give up something during Lent, what would it be? Most people answered social media! That would certainly be a hard one! Just ask your kids or any millennial! Could you give up social networking for 40 days and 40 nights?

Some other things to consider giving up for Lent are swearing, fast food, sweets, maybe even smoking!

If you had to give up something for 40 days and 40 nights, what would it be? For me, it would have to be caffeine. I would replace it with more water!
