Valley teen scores free pizza for a year from tweet that goes viral

You would be amazed at the power of social media!

Just take Arizona teen Conor Phelan who loves going to MOD Pizza with his teammates after a football game. The Basha High School quarterback was joking around with friends about what it would take to get free pizza for a year.

What do you think it would take to get a year’s worth of pizza? What started as a joke some what, turned into an honest challenge when he tweeted to MOD Pizza, “How many retweets for free mod pizza once a week for 1 year,” not expecting the company to reply. When they actually did, he took it to task.

50,000 retweets was the answer and Phelan had a week to do it. Did he pull it off?

The district manager of MOD pizza figured there’s no way someone could get 50,000 retweets in just one week, but guess what, Connor pulled it off!

In fact, because they like to brand themselves as pizza with a purpose, they even threw in a charitable gift offering to cook up a thousand meals to children that are a part of Generosity Feeds, so it was a win-win situation.
