88.7 FM/The Pulse, and Neon Radio/90.7 FM, the student radio stations at East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT), will broadcast 22 East Valley high school football games during the 11-week regular season, from August 17ththrough October 26th. The broadcast schedule features schools throughout the East Valley, including Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Scottsdale, Ahwatukee and Queen Creek. It also includes the defending 6A champion (Chandler), a matchup of last year’s 5A champ (Centennial) against the 2017 3A champ (Casteel), 5A state runner-up (Notre Dame Prep) & 4A champion (Saguaro).
The Pulse and Neon Radio are products of EVIT’s Radio/Audio Production class, located at the Main Campus of EVIT. Both are public radio stations that showcase the talents of the students enrolled in the program. The broadcasts provide current EVIT Radio students the opportunity to gain valuable experience contributing as play-by-play announcers, analysts & on-site engineers. EVIT students will also handle all pre and post-production of the broadcasts.
The Pulse and Neon Radio have established themselves as the go-to place for live radio coverage of high school athletics. Pulse Sports is entering its fourth year of broadcasting high school football, boys and girls high school basketball and high school baseball and softball games.
Current high school sophomores & juniors who are interested in sports broadcasting and learning more about The Pulse and the opportunities within the Radio/Audio Production programs at EVIT, please contact Dave Juday at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pulse Sports would like to thank Dutch Bros., the title sponsor of all 2018 high school football broadcasts. Also thanks to the U.S. Army, Rosati’s Chicago Pizza on Power & Baseline in Mesa and Buddyz – A Chicago Pizzeria, for their support.
