One of the first Oktoberfests of the season will happen this Friday, September 28th and Saturday, September 29th in Fountain Hills at the park. Returning for the 11th year, the family friendly event will celebrate all things German. A band will be flown in from Germany for the festivities. Mouth watering foot-long brats, schnitzel, homemade potato pancakes, strudel, sauerkraut, and more will tempt your taste buds. Wash it all down with the famous imported Warsteiner Oktoberfest beer from Germany. Best of all, if you wear a dirndl or lederhosen you get in FREE! Otherwise, it’s $5 for those 21+. 20 and under are free. Compete with friends and family for fun and prizes in the beer stein holding competition, best dressed, and Alphorn blowing contest. We’ll be there this Saturday, September 29th from 9-11 a.m. for National Coffee Day. FREE java to help you wake up starting at 5:30 a.m. all day and night until 11 p.m so you can stay up late and play video games, watch a movie, or hang out with friends. Did you know that scorpions glow in the dark under a blacklight? Join the “All About Scorpions” program inside the Nature Center at Usery Mountain Regional Park. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m Friday, September 28th in Mesa followed by a snake feeding at 7:30 p.m! Then adventurers can join Ranger B as he leads you on an entertaining evening walk along a trail to find these elusive desert dwellers (using your eyes only). You will sharpen your spotting skills and have a lot of fun at the same time! All ages will enjoy this casual one-hour/one-mile walk from 8 to 9 p.m. If you go, please wear closed-toe shoes and bring water and a blacklight (blacklights are for sale for $10, batteries and tax included – while supplies last). No pets, please. Location: Trailhead Staging Area. It’s $6 to get into the park.

The Caffeine and Classics Car Show is this Saturday! Just in time for your morning cup of joe, it takes place from 9 a.m to Noon. Streetside Classics in Mesa, 614 E Auto Center Drive, will be hosting. The show will feature all makes and models for fellow enthusiasts to indulge in the blend of premium cars and coffee! 

Urban Expo 2018 is all about connecting the community! It is hosted by the Greater Phoenix Urban League of Young Professionals. It’s family fun day in the park with live entertainment, food trucks, local businesses, and more! FREE to attend, come celebrate the culture and people with the urban community at Steele Indian School Park at 3rd Street and Indian School Road in Phoenix. It’s going on all day from 11 a.m to 6 p.m. 

Unroll your mat for an invigorating full-body flow exploring postures and fundamental principles of Vinyasa yoga. Corepower Yoga is offering a FREE community class this Saturday at 4:30 p.m. It’s located in Tempe on Mill Avenue and University near Arizona State University. Set to inspiring tunes, this foundation-building class will work every muscle through movement and breath at a moderate, but intuitive pace. Call 480 393 0519 for more information. 

Ride-In Movies at the Park will feature one of the highest rated movies of the year this Saturday, September 29th. It will be a fun night with free giveaways! SRP will be providing free kettle corn! If possible, you are encouraged to ride your bike, walk, or take public transportation to the park. Located at Chelsea Park in Mesa. Event organizers will be showing Paddington 2 at 7 p.m.
