Weezer covers all your favorites from the 1980s back and beyond

WEEZER (Teal Album) Review – Released January 24, 2019

How do you improve on Toto’s original? Add some guitar and amp it up! Definitely my most beloved track on the whole effort!
Africa ****

Perhaps my second favorite cover of the Teal Album. Just being to hit that high note is an accomplishment in itself!
Take On Me *** 1/2

Both Stand By Me and Sweet Dreams covers offered feel good renditions, but will they be remembered a year or two from now, probably not.
Stand By Me ***
Sweet Dreams ***

You can tell the boys had fun with The Turtles 1967 original Happy Together, but not so much for the listener.
Happy Together **

Certainly, Weezer’s hard rockin’ spin on Black Sabbath’s original Paranoid was a bit fun, but can’t hold a candle to the original.
Paranoid **

Some classics should be left alone. Unfortunately, the band did nothing to improve on the legendary Michael Jackson, ELO, TLC, or Tears For Fears tracks. I could be wrong. Opinions are like nostrils, everyone has them.
