A list of the 50 greatest world leaders by Fortune highlights leaders who “are transforming the world and inspiring others to do the same” (via Fortune) and a little bit of the valley is represented in Michael Crow, The President of Arizona State University.
Coming in at number 44, he is the only University President. Why was he selected you may ask? Fortune says, “he has spent 17 years reinventing the ‘party school’ ASU as a higher-ed innovator, adding satellite campuses, online degrees, and partnerships to educate Starbucks employees and Uber drivers.” They also noted that enrollment numbers for ASU have upped to roughly 98,000 students, almost double the number when he started in 2002.
Topping the list is Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, and his wife Melinda as the two greatest world leaders. New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Department of Justice Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Tencent founder and CEO Pony Ma and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella rounded out the top five of that list.
