Personal finance company WalletHub compiled a list of the best 300 cities in the nation for first-time home buyers.
Peoria, Chandler, Gilbert, Surprise and Scottsdale all cracked the top 10% of the study.
Phoenix, Mesa, Glendale, Tempe, Yuma and Tucson limped in the top half of the study with Tucson ranking as the worst city in the state at #137.
The study took several factors into account: affordability, real-estate market and quality of life. Other smaller factors were also used to determine a score out of 100 for each city, 100 being the best and 0 being the worst.
All five of the top Arizona cities got a score of 62.43 or higher. Peoria was the highest valley-ranked city with a score of 64.57, and Scottsdale took the 62.43 score.
The best city according to the study was Tampa Bay, FL, where they scored 67.14.
Berkley, CA slid in dead last on the list, scoring 32.95.
