Brand New Portillo’s Location Open in Avondale

Chicago-based restaurant with 2 other locations in the valley, opens it's first in the West Valley

Have you ever been to Chicago? If you’re like me and said no, then you have the perfect opportunity to get a taste (literally) of what it’s like. If you said yes, then here’s your chance to go back!

Portillo’s, a restaurant that’s based in Villa Park, Illinois, has open it’s 3rd Arizona restaurant in the West Valley.

It is located off off of 107th Avenue and McDowell Roads in Avondale.

Concept for Portillo’s in Avondale

It’s a 9,0000-square-foot space that has seating for up to 200 people, along with an outdoor patio.

It’s decor will feature that of it’s other Arizona locations: a 50’s/60’s style concept rooted with Chicago-based memorabilia across the wall space.

Chicago truly lives in Arizona when it comes to Portillo’s. Their menu is packed with ballpark classics like their Chicago-style hot dogs, beef sandwiches, and cheese fries among others (my mouth is already watering!). They also have a huge selection of salads with fresh ingredients picked everyday.

As mentioned above, 2 other stand-alone restaurants exist in Arizona, both of which are in the Easy Valley. One is located off of McClintock Drive/Rio Salado Parkway near Tempe Marketplace, and the other is right off Shea Blvd/90th Street in Scottsdale.

A small post right outside of Chase Field is also operated during Diamondback-game days.

They have 57 other locations across the country: one in Iowa, 2 in California, 2 in Florida, 3 in Minnesota, and 5 in Indiana. The rest reside in it’s home of Illinois. I guess we’re lucky!

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held this morning, where Avondale city officials were in attendance.
