Wrench Nation/EVIT Auto Technician Scholarship

 

This scholarship is intended to encourage all adults, who are interested in a career in the automotive technology field, to engage in education in a quality automotive program.

  • Open to all adults who are interested in attending one school year at The East Valley Institute of Technology’s automotive program to train for a career as an auto technician.
  • Must currently be a high school graduate or have GED Equivalent.
  • Scholarships or prizes will be paid to EVIT on behalf of the scholarship recipient.
  • Winners will be notified by e-mail, and phone and posted on Wrenchnation.tv

The Wrench Nation/EVIT Auto Technician Scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $4,168, the
cost of one year of training at EVIT and the program fees. The sponsor of the scholarship will be various automotive and community entities through Accurate Automotive. The monies will be donated to the EVIT Foundation, (a 501c3 Tax Exempt Organization) then will be dispersed to EVIT Adult Education on behalf of the scholarship holder.

The scholarship must be used for the 2018-2019 school year beginning on August 6th 2018 and ending
on May 22nd 2019. The student must attend EVIT 2.5 hours per day, Monday-Friday in line with the EVIT School calendar as listed on www.evit.com.

Applications will be accepted beginning at 12:01am May 23nd, 2018 and final submissions must be
received by 11:59pm July 15th, 2018. Scholarship recipient will be announced on or before July 18th, 2018.

The scholarship will be awarded to the student that receives the highest average score on a rubric that
will be used by the committee and provided in the application. The committee will be made up of no
less than three automotive professionals and two educators/employees of The East Valley Institute of
Technology, including Frank the host of Wrench Nation and Steve Grosz. The decisions of the scholarship committee will be final.

  3. Pick one up at the office of Adult Education at The East Valley Institute of Technology, 1601 West Main Street, Mesa AZ 85201. Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30pm. Closed Fridays this summer.
  4. Pick one up at Desert Car Care of Chandler, 95 North Dobson Road, Chandler AZ 85224. Closed Saturday and Sunday.

When the application is completed it must be uploaded, emailed, or received by 11:59pm on July 15th, 2018.
