Justin Timberlake’s label sued over ‘Suit & Tie’

Justin Timberlake and Jay Z’s 2013 hit song “Suit & Tie” is now the center of a lawsuit.

Members of the ’70s R&B  group, Sly, Slick and Wicked, filed the lawsuit claiming that “Suit & Tie” samples their 1973 song “Sho’ Nuff.”

According to the band members, Universal Music Group, Timberlake’s label, paid to sample their song. However, the label never got the rights to the vocal performances in the song.

In other words, Sly, Slick and Wicked did the singing, but never actually got paid for it.
