‘Power Rangers’ cast takes the mound at Tempe spring training game to throw out first pitch

Before the Los Angeles Angels took on the Chicago Cubs at yesterday’s spring training game at Tempe Diablo Stadium, it was morphin’ time!

Naomi Scott (Pink Ranger), Dacre Montgomery (Red Ranger), and Ludi Lin (Black Ranger) from Saban’s Power Rangers were in Phoenix to promote the upcoming Lionsgate film — which hits theaters later this month — to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the ballgame.

Something to keep in mind: these are Power Rangers, not baseball players, so their throwing skills weren’t exactly on par with the pros. However, Scott still put the boys to shame, as she was the only one whose throw made it all the way to the catcher’s glove.

Opening in theaters March 24, Saban’s Power Rangers follows five high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove (as well as the rest of the world) is on the verge of destruction due to an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, they quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet, but most overcome their real-life issues and band together as the iconic Power Rangers before it is too late.
