Pulse artists Calvin Harris and The Chainsmokers place in the highest paid deejays list

Is it hard to believe that some deejays make as much as six-figure nightly fees and that amount is trending upwards! Imagine that is for an Electronic Dance Music (EDM) artist named Marshmello who placed eighth on Forbes annual list of the highest paid deejays. Between him and newcomers, The Chainsmokers, there were a reported 2.2 billion-plus streams over the previous year of their music. For the fifth year in a row, DJ & producer Calvin Harris has reached the top of the highest paid DJs list. His yearly earnings amount to $48.5 million. Tiesto and The Chainsmokers were close runner-ups. Using sales data from Nielsen Soundscan and touring trackers such as Bandintown and Pollstar, the majority of the Top 10 were white males based in the US or Europe. Great news for white dudes, not so much for people who champion the gender and race pay gaps. Forbes.com has the full list of top earners in the DJ business.
