Upcoming 2018 Fall Break offers a chance to see scenic beauty and experience cool weather in Northern Arizona

Join Local First Arizona on their upcoming WeekendZona excursion! It all takes place the weekend of October 12-14, 2018.

WeekendZona aims to redirect billions of dollars (6 billion in Southern California, alone!) that Arizonans spend vacationing out of state to our unique and diverse small towns. By creating a curated experience to showcase each small town in its best light, Arizonans are exposed to hidden gems which create a measurable economic impact in these communities.

Escape to the White Mountains – An Autumn Retreat will take place, October 12-14 during fall break for many elementary, junior high, and high school students and their families.

At an elevation of 6,804 feet, the town of Pinetop-Lakeside is known for its brilliant blue skies, abundant wildlife, and towering pines. Experience a visual kaleidoscope of Fall colors as you enter in to Pinetop through the pines and capture the true essence of the season atop a trusty steed during the 2-hour horseback excursion. There will also be an opportunity to play horseshoes, DIY paint a wood sign and/or trail blaze on a short hike around Scott’s Reservoir to capture what are sure to be some of your favorite Fall memories for years to come.

The mystique of the Fall season will be heightened during a unique experience at the 1st Annual White Mountain Balloon Festival. Enjoy the hot air balloon Glow, tether rides, laser show, inflatables for kids and a lineup of some of the best vendors that the Rim Country has to offer; along with music and plenty of retail booths for browsing and shopping.

All Packages include lodging for two nights, meals, and group activities! A 2-Hour Guided Horseback Tour Ride is included. Riders cross the creek several times into a meadow opening, then ride up into the trees, and over to Scott’s Reservoir Lake. Whether you decide to gather around the picnic area for a game of cornhole, participate in wood sign painting, or walk through the pines along one of a few trails, it’s sure to be relaxing.

In your free time between group activities you can choose between many fun options! The Main Street shopping and antiquing is fun and diverse! A Self-Guided Tour Along the Fall Colors Drive Map offers a unique view of the north. There’s also scenic hiking in the Pines!
