If you’ve been climbing the walls at home, dying to get out and go to the gym, your day has come.
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey has officially announced that gyms and pools can reopen on Wednesday, May 13. In addition, the stay-at-home order for residents will expire Friday night, May 15.
This follows the state’s approval for dine-in restaurants to reopen to guests on Monday, May 11. In a FOX 10 Phoenix poll, viewers were asked if they would be dining in a restaurant. 53% replied, “no.” 38% admitted, “yes.” The other 9% said they would dine-in somewhere, sometime this week.
Schools will remain closed, and in-person visits to nursing homes will remain banned.
“This is not a green light to speed. This is a green light to proceed, and we’re going to proceed with caution,” Gov. Ducey said.
Not everyone has agreed with Ducey’s plan to gradually reopen the state. Several business owners have signed a letter on TooSoonArizona.com stating that they will not be opening their doors until there’s more medical evidence COVID-19 has been contained.
