88.7 FM, The Pulse, and Neon 90.7 FM, the student radio stations at the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT), will broadcast five East Valley high school baseball & softball games during the current season, from April 6th through May 5th. The broadcast schedule highlights schools throughout the East Valley, including Mesa, Chandler, Tempe and Ahwatukee. It also features the 2019 6A baseball state champ (Hamilton), 2019 6A runner-up (Corona del Sol) and 2019 6A semifinalist (Red Mountain), as well as the 2019 6A softball state runner-up (Pinnacle).
The Pulse and Neon Radio are products of EVIT’s Radio/Audio Production class, located at the Main Campus of EVIT. Both are public radio stations that showcase the talents of the students enrolled in the program. The broadcasts provide current EVIT Radio students the opportunity to gain valuable experience contributing as play-by-play announcers, analysts & onsite engineers. EVIT students will also handle all pre and post-production of the broadcasts.
The Pulse and Neon Radio have established themselves as the go-to place for live radio coverage of high school athletics. Pulse Sports is in its fifth year of broadcasting high school football, boys and girls high school basketball and high school baseball and softball games.
Current high school sophomores & juniors who are interested in sports broadcasting and learning more about The Pulse and the opportunities within the Radio/Audio Production programs at EVIT, please contact Dave Juday at [email protected]
